In classical Chinese, "Dan Qing" literally means red and blue — the two pigments painting was built on. This dress takes the idea literally: a crimson ground, indigo scrolling blossoms woven into the fabric itself, and where the two colours cross, they bloom into a shifting violet sheen. One dress, two colours, and a third that only appears when you move. No print can do that — the pattern lives in the weave, and you can feel it under your fingers.

- Two-tone woven brocade — indigo floral scrolls on a crimson ground; colour and pattern born on the loom, with a subtle iridescent shift between red and blue.
- Stand collar with double red piping, cap sleeves trimmed in red satin.
- Traditional frog buttons down the diagonal placket, finished with red bead knots.
- Red satin hem band running around the hem and up the side slit — a clean frame around the busy pattern.
- Slim full-length cut, fully made to measure — order in your own measurements or a standard size.
✦ Where it belongs
A wedding banquet, a toast, Lunar New Year, a dinner party — anywhere red is expected but full-on scarlet feels like too much. This is red with the volume turned down: the blue keeps it composed, the violet undertone keeps it interesting. It flatters in photographs and it doesn't shout.
